Kim A. Baker, M.D.

I was born in Seoul South Korea and am proud to be part of a military family. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Anthropology at the University of Virginia where I was exposed to the deaf community and developed an interest in conditions related to hearing loss, which led me to the specialty of otolaryngology. I obtained my medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine followed by a residency in otolaryngology at the University of Maryland Medical Center. My passion for working with children led me to pursue and complete a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics in Kansas City.

I believe in providing high quality and accessible care to families in a caring and compassionate environment. Although my patients are children, I work closely with their parents and families, because they are my patients’ support systems and are vital to their well-being. I enjoy educating my patients and their families so that they can make the best decisions regarding their child’s health. Through international outreach and medical missions, I have been able to combine my love of travel and passion for pediatric otolaryngology. I am excited to be able to provide care to the families of the greater San Antonio metropolitan area and south Texas.
